MTG GRAND PRIX SAN DIEGO

I will be attending the San Diego Grand Prix on Nov 12-13 (Sat-Sun)  to sign cards and sell some artist proofs, I still have a some Maelstrom Pulses and Tez available.

The even went really well. I think there were more that a thousand people there. I got a chance to meet a bunch of artists that I looked up to when I used to play the game and newer artist that keep the card art pretty sick.

That's actually what I admire. You don't seem to need extensive marketing or artwork that is popular by the mazes (Imagine big boobed women in steel bikini's riding fierce dragons...).
I would love to know how you do that? Are you in a union?

lol.. yeah I see that a lot :)..
You know I think I just make sure that I am ready when the opportunity presents itself. Even though I was not that good of an artist at the beginning of my career I kept on trying to get better and have a good relationship with the clients so they will hire me back. Most of my jobs have been though word of mouth anyway. Good friends that I have made along the way. I just got in the union just last year.

thanks for the complement :)I try to practice everyday and keep learning stuff from any source I can find. But practice is key, get your mileage up!
Do a lot of figure drawing and landscape painting .. draw from life and draw from imagination constantly.
and eventually things will click...
